The details:
This small group, IN-PERSON training is a highly practical, skills-based and experiential opportunity for practitioners of psychedelic medicine. A maximum of 16 clinicians/therapists will be enrolled. Throughout the week, various skills that relate to dosing sessions will be taught via lecture, video and/or demonstration, as well as via experiential practice in dyads/triads. Dosing skills will focus primarily on their application with psilocybin and MDMA, though other medicines will be referenced. Practitioners who complete the 4-day training will receive a Certificate of Completion from Emotion Science LLC, as well as 25 continued education credits.
The following are examples of somatic, emotion-focused and relational topics to be covered, time permitting:
- Process-experiential determination of dose
- Responding to resistance (beyond the breath)
- Responding to challenging emotional states, including rage and hate
- Responding to sexual energy
- Harnessing the energy of love as a healing technology within and in the space between
- Responding to ruptures
- Supporting re-enactments and communicating boundaries
- Working with in-session facilitator blocks (judgements, emotions, behaviors)
- Engaging in self-care in-session
- Preparing the system for transfer of care
+ identifying and responding to concerns during screening; pre-dosing preparation activities; review of dosing day pre-protocol; and resources to support integration - both post-dose integration of the psychedelic experience and psychotherapeutic integration
Participants will be provided with many resources/tools to support their practice (no reproduction limits). They will also be supported to create and practice individualized scripts to promote skill development and fluency. On the last day of the training, participants will be invited to share one or two of their favorite personal practices/tools/techniques with their peers.
Beverages, snacks, lunch and dinner are included in the cost, and will be available each training day. Most dietary needs can be accommodated but please inform us of your specific needs.
